5 Ways To Make Yourself Do It!
I’m all about getting things done, so here are 5 ways to make yourself do something you’ve been putting off.
You know yourself better than anyone, so you’ll know which of these are likely to work for you. If you’re driven and organised but just very busy, any or the first three or a combination of them will be your best bet.
If however you’re full of good intentions and keep promises to others but not to yourself, then either or both of the last two will be best for you:
Focus on why you want to do it – What are the benefits of doing it? What else will improve as a result?
Clear a diary space – Don’t just wait until you have time – schedule it and stick to it.
Promise yourself a reward – decide how you’ll reward yourself for doing it – it doesn’t have to be something huge or expensive, but something that you’ll definitely look forward to.
Commit to others – Depending on what you have to do, how you commit to others varies. It could be send an invitation, promise to send a copy by a certain date, diary a meeting…..you get the idea.
Pay for the privilege of doing it – making a financial commitment is often the way that gets people committed to doing something. So pay for some help, pay for a hotdesk for a day, or pay for a workshop to help you get it done. If it’s worth doing and that’s what it takes, you’ll be glad you did.
If a Vision Board is on your list – there’s a workshop coming up.
