International Women’s Day 2014

International Women's Day

I wonder what this day means to you?  For me it’s an awareness of all the women around the world – not just the famous ones but all of them, the ones we never hear of, the unsung heroines, each one doing her part, in her corner of the world, in creating the future.

Everything we do has an impact on our world, on the people around us – it has a ripple effect so between us we have a huge impact on the world.  Today I encourage you to reflect – how have you influenced your world positively in the last year?  How will you in the coming year?

International Women’s Day is for you.  Your business serves others and makes a difference in the world – if it didn’t you wouldn’t have a business.

If this seems like a big responsibility, remember the words of Marianne Williamson….

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.   Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.”

…., just take it one step at a time: just like business, not every day will be your best, but as long as the trend is positive that’s what’s important.  International Women’s Day reminds us that we don’t have to change the world on our own!

And just to make sure you know you’re part of it, here’s another favourite quote of mine:

“If you think you’re too small to make a difference, you’ve never spent the night with a mosquito.”

We’re all in this together.

I'd love to hear what International Women’s Day means to you:
